Come along and join Nordic Walking!

Nordic Walking

Nordic walking is a great way to exercise outdoors with spectacular views and fulfil exercise aims using Nordic Walking poles. This is just such a great way to be outdoors and get fit, come rain or shine, with a low impact activity and using 90% of the bodies muscles.

Coming along to a Taster Session will give an insight into the theory behind Nordic Walking and how the poles can propel you as you walk, and you will see how the whole body has a workout without feeling like you have worked too hard.

This technique is to enjoy the outdoors more easily than normal walking. By doing it, you’ll work to your capacity within the realms of your body to help maintain weight, fitness levels, cardiovascular fitness & injury recovery, whatever your fitness levels are, at a pace that is right for you!

I use a programme designed by Nordic Walking Uk to lead you through the fundamental techniques, mastering pole techniques, posture, and advancing technique and speed.

Why is it good for me?

Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking but twice as effective – making it something we can all do! Nordic Walking uses poles to add two major benefits to walking:

The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs.

The poles help to propel you along – this means that you work harder than usual, yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!

What equipment do I need?

Comfortable outdoor clothing, trainers if it’s dry or a walking shoe if it’s wet, layers are a great idea, and if it’s raining, you will need waterproofs.
The learn to Nordic walk programme is split over four sessions. You can come as a group of friends or have a 1 to 1 session. The equipment is proved as part of the cost.
