What is Pregnancy Massage?
And What Can It Do For me?
I blend together my experience and training as a mother, midwife, health visitor and therapist to provide a deeply relaxing massage, to ease away the muscle aches and stress that develops during pregnancy.
As well as being deeply relaxing and a lovely way to spoil yourself, there are many benefits:
Massage can reduce back pain and ease general aches and pains caused by pregnancy, encourage better sleep, lower levels of stress hormones, reduce blood pressure, reduce fluid retention, improve circulation, improve foetal nourishment, improve mood, reduce anxiety, enhance health and nourishment of the skin, boost energy levels and calm body and mind.
Many studies show that women who receive regular massage throughout their pregnancies tend to have shorter labours with fewer complications. Studies have also shown that women who received massage as least twice a week before delivery had lower levels of stress hormones, which reduced their risk of premature delivery and postnatal depression.
Pregnancy massage is safe throughout your entire pregnancy, and at each visit, I will review your progress and we will decide on positioning for comfort as your bump grows. I will use a non-scented, safe, liquid wax to massage with.

I am trained in developmental baby massage techniques, blending my knowledge and expertise as a mother, midwife and health visitor.
I offer individual or group sessions developing a loving touch that is in tune with your baby’s cues and development. Whilst helping you to understand each stage of development, how to use massage strokes and develop with your baby and which oils enhance the natural balance of the skin.
